Stream all kinds of videos via WebDAV & VLC

Part 1. How to Stream common videos via WebDAV & VLC

You can learn what WebDAV is about on Wikipedia. Got That, now lets begin…

For this example, we are going to stream an mp4 file ‘demo’ from our network cloud storage space using VLC. First up open VLC and click the play button on the bottom-left of the VLC window. Clicking on the ‘play’ button will open up a window from which you should select ‘Network’ from the tabs across the top of the screen from here you need to enter the location of the file you wish to stream (in our case ‘demo’). Your URL should be somewhere along the lines of ‘http://SERVER_IP/”Here/is/your/movie/path.mp4’

On clicking ‘Play’ at the bottom of the window you will be prompted for your Network login credentials, these are simply your unique subdomain you selected when you created and your password.

That’s it! On entering your credentials and clicking ‘OK’ your media will begin to stream and you can begin to dance!

Part 2. How to Stream unsupported videos via WebDAV & VLC

If you have any video which is unsupported by VLC media player, please try Pavtube Video Converter(Mac Version) to convert them to H.264 MP4 format for VLC.
